Thermoplastic Paint has the following advantages over conventional paints.
The drying time for thermoplastic is 8 - 10 minutes where as Cold Applied Road Marking takes longer hours to dry. Thermoplastic stays on Road for 24 - 36 months as against one month life of cold applied paints. Pre - mixed and drop on Glass Beads are used in thermoplastic for day and night visibility. Whereas there is no reflection in ordinary cold applied paints. There is no need to paint the surface again and again so it saves maintenance cost. Since the Thermoplastic Road Marking takes 8 - 10 minutes to dry so there is no need to block the traffic for longer hours as the drying process takes much lesser time. As per latest policy of NHAI all the roads where BC is to be done will be marked with thermoplastic only. Now a days roads are being built in India as per international standards so the Paint of international standard should also be used for road marking and the Thermoplastic is the most suitable and recommended option for that.
